About us

Our story . . . is simple, that of two sisters who grew up in a very small town on an island in Washington State during the 1960's. We each learned to sew at the knees of our mother and grandmother at an early age, making doll clothes and our own clothes. The entrepreneurial spirit comes naturally from the pioneer stock of our forefathers---and we're proud of, and thankful to, them for giving us the dreams and work ethic that it takes to start a small business.

The older and wiser sister, Dawn, is the sewing wizard! She does 95% of the sewing of our products and is the most perfect fabric (and paper) cutter in the world (well, the State of Washington anyway!) Dawn instigated the business eight years ago when she sent Debbie a Hobo Bag.  Always on the lookout for new and exciting products, Dawn keeps the product line fresh and on the cutting edge.  She stops sewing only long enough to enjoy her beautiful and super smart granddaughters, Aurora and Genevieve.   She works full-time at a bank and lives in Eastern Washington State with her hubby, Morris.

Debbie, the younger, wildly imaginative of the two handles the day-to-day business-end of things.  A super-duper organizer, she gets the taxes filed, fills orders and books craft festivals. After receiving the first Hobo Bag from big sister, Debbie took the fantasy ball and ran with it.  Business was at a standstill until she moved from Tennessee to Washington in 2002---there's been no turning back since then!  Debbie, too, enjoys occasional visits with her darling grandsons, Gabriel and Liam and baby granddaughter, Eliana, who live in Tennessee.  She works full-time for an accounting firm and lives on Whidbey Island in Washington State.

When our busy schedules hamper production, we outsource work . . . to our mother, Polly, and sister-in-law, Ann!  We hope you enjoy our products.
